ABSTRACT
This research entitled “Penggunaan Register oleh Kreator Konten Amerika di Media Sosial YouTube”. It is expected to give significance and contributions for the theoretical building of the linguistics field, particularly supports the development of subject dealing with sociolinguistics as this research about the register used by US content creators in social media YouTube. It is an attempt to identify and classify the register used by US content creators in social media YouTube and to analyze and describe the register and linguistic form of register used by US content creators in social media YouTube. The theories which used in this research are Joos (1968) about variation of language in register and Yule (2006) about linguistic form in register and this research applies a descriptive method. Data were taken in James Charles, FaZe Rug, jeffreestar, and the last Niki and Gabi YouTube Channels in March, 2022 by the writer. The results of the analysis showed that there are 62 words which contain the register and linguistic form of register. Registers that used in YouTube channels by US content creators are frozen, formal, consultative, casual and intimate, while linguistic form of register found in US content creators YouTube channels are coinage, borrowing, compounding, blending, clipping, backformation, conversion and acronyms.
