Analisis Penggunaan Bentuk Laras Bahasa dalam Film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005)
This research entitled “Analisis Penggunaan Bentuk Laras Bahasa dalam Film Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005) by Warner Bros.” This research aimed at analyzing forms of Register in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). The objectives of this research are to identify and classify the form of register, and to analyze the meaning of it. The writer used “five styles of language” theory by Martin Joos (1967) and “seven types of meaning” theory by Geoffrey Leech (1981) to classify, identify, and analyze the data. This research used qualitative descriptive method. The main source of the data is from the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire (2005). This research has identified twelve data which are divided into five forms, such as: 4 frozen styles, 2 formal styles, 2 consultative styles, 3 casual styles, and 1 intimate style. There are also three meaning that are found in this research based on the twelve data, those are: 4 connotative meanings, 3 social meanings, and 5 affective meanings.
