ABSTRACT

The research is entitled “Dissociative Identity Disorder of Kevin Wendell Crumb as The Main Character in Glass Movie (2019)”.. The aims of this research are to identify the symptoms and causes of dissociative identity disorder through Kevin Wendell Crumb in Glass movie (2019) and to analyze the dissosiative identity disorder that depicted through Kevin Wendell Crumb as seen in the Glass movie (2019). This research uses qualitative descriptive method and intrinsic and extrinsic approach also psychological approach from Wellek and Werren theory and the symptoms of DID by using the theory of Halgin and Whit Bourne (2010), and the causes of DID by using the theory of Jones (2022) and The depiction of Kevin Wendell Crumb by using theory of character by Boogs and Petrie (2008). The result of this research shows that Kevin Wendell Crumb suffers from DID that makes him having 24 personalities on himself. The writer found that there are 5 symptoms of DID on Kevin Wendell. The writer also found that the causes of DID of Kevin Wendell Crumb is childhood trauma, he got abuse from his mother when he was a child. Based on character analysis, Kevin’s character is depicted through his appearance, dialogue and interactions between characters in the film.
