Head of the English Literature Department Participates in socialization of Recognition of Prior Learning

Manado, October 09, 2024 – Stephanie J. Sigarlaki, S.S, M.Hum, the Head of the English Department of Sam Ratulangi University, participated in a two-day socialization event on Recognition of Prior Learning or Recognisi Pembelajaran Lampau (RPL) held at Hotel Manado Tateli on October 26-27, 2024.

The event aimed to raise awareness about the significance of recognizing learning acquired outside formal education. Participants were provided with information on the processes for acknowledging and equating relevant learning experiences to the job market.

“RPL is crucial in offering individuals the opportunity to validate the competencies they have gained, thereby enhancing their competitiveness in the labor market,” Stephanie explained.

This initiative is expected to encourage more educational institutions and companies to implement RPL, ultimately improving the quality of human resources in North Sulawesi. With support from various stakeholders, the socialization is anticipated to have a positive impact on the development of education and the workforce in the region.
