English Literature Department Is Preparing for International Acreditation

Manado, November 11, 2024 – The English Literature Department at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Sam Ratulangi University (Unsrat), held a workshop on the preparation of the International Accreditation Self-Assessment Report on Monday, November 11, 2024. The event, which took place in the Faculty of Cultural Sciences Auditorium, was attended by several key figures, including Ir. Hendy Santoso, S.T., M.T., Ph.D., Secretary of Quality Assurance at the LPMPP of Universitas Bengkulu, who served as the main speaker.

The workshop, which began at 11:30 WITA, aimed to provide an in-depth understanding of the process of preparing the international accreditation self-assessment report, particularly for the English Literature Department. During his presentation, Ir. Hendy Santoso outlined the strategic steps that must be taken to ensure that the study program meets strict international standards. “The international accreditation process not only evaluates the quality of education but also the sustainability and relevance of the program on the global stage,” he said.

In addition to Ir. Hendy Santoso, the event was also attended by Maya P. Warouw, S.S., M.Hum., M.Ed., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Cultural Sciences at Unsrat, who delivered an opening speech emphasizing the importance of international accreditation for the development of the faculty and university. “International accreditation will open broader opportunities for students and faculty members at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, particularly in expanding the global academic network,” said Maya P. Warouw.

Stephani J. Sigarlaki, S.S., M.Hum., Head of the English Literature Department, also expressed hope that the workshop would enhance the understanding of the entire academic community in preparing an accurate self-assessment report that meets the established standards. “Preparing the accreditation report is a collective effort that requires collaboration between various parties within the faculty and university,” she stated.

 

F.Ari A. Sebayang, M.A., the Chairperson of the event’s organizing committee, expressed gratitude to all those who contributed to the success of the workshop. “We hope that the participants will gain valuable insights, so that the process of preparing the accreditation self-assessment report can proceed smoothly and meet all the required criteria,” he said.

The event was attended by faculty members and staff from the English Literature Department and other related faculties, all committed to continuing to enhance the quality of education at Sam Ratulangi University.

Through this workshop, it is hoped that the international accreditation process for the English Literature Department at Sam Ratulangi University will proceed successfully and further enhance the quality of education offered to students.
