Prinsip-Prinsip Kesantunan dalam Film Captain America: The First Avenger (Suatu Analisis Pragmatik)
“This research entitled “”Politeness Principles in the Film Captain America: The First Avenger (A Pragmatic Analysis)”” it is intended as a requirement to accomplish the bachelor’s degree at Faculty of Humanity Sam Ratulangi University. The principles of politeness can be viewed as provisions or lessons with maxims, the maxims themselves implying teachings about rules that must be followed in the communication process as a social interaction. This research used descriptive-qualitative method. This research focuses on politeness principles to identify, classify, analyze and describe the functions of objectification reflected in the film Captain America: The First Avenger. The writer used the theory of Leech (1983) to classify the principle of politeness into six maxims, namely tact maxim, generosity maxim, approbation maxim, modesty maxim, agreement maxim, and sympathy maxim. As a result of this research, there are six types of maxims in this film: 6 tact maxims, 1 generosity maxim, 9 approbation maxims, 1 modesty maxim, 3 agreement maxims, and 1 sympathy maxim.
