ABSTRACT
This study entitled “Exclamatory Sentences Reflected in the Series Film Christmas Carol 2019 by Nick Murphy” explains the types and functions of the exclamatory sentences contained in the film. This is intended as a requirement for achieving a bachelor’s degree at the Faculty of Cultural Sciences, Sam Ratulangi University, Manado. This study aims to prove the existence of any types of exclamatory sentences contained in the film by identifying, classifying and analyzing using the descriptive method of Gay (1992).Exclamatory sentence is a type of sentence that is used to express the speaker’s attitude or emotion. Leech and Svartvik (2003) also explain that exclamatory sentences are divided into two types, namely interjection and imperative which have their respective functions.
