ABSTRACT

This research entitled “Terms of Address Used in Pitch Perfect Movie 2012 (Sociolinguistics Analysis)”. The aims of this research are to identify, classify and analyze the terms of address in the movie of Pitch Perfect 2012. The theory used in this research is from Wardhaugh (2000) and Wardhaugh (2010). This research uses descriptive qualitative method from Lambert and Lambert (2012). The result of this research shows that there are seven of nine types of address terms used by the characters in the Pitch Perfect 2012 movie based on the theory used, which are: addressing using title (T), addressing using first name (FN), addressing using full name (full name/FN+LN), addressing using nickname, addressing using pet name, addressing using kinship term, addressing using mockery. The writer found 2 types of address terms using titles, 7 types of address terms using first names, 4 types of address terms using full names, 4 types of address terms using nicknames, 1 type of address terms using kinship terms, 6 types of address terms using pet name/intimate, and 5 types of address terms using mockery.
