ANALISIS IDENTITAS GENDER SEBAGAI SEORANG TRANSGENDER DALAM FILM THE DANISH GIRL PRODUKSI TOM HOOPER (2015)
ABSTRACT
This research is entitled “The Analysis of Gender Identity as a Transgender in The Danish Girl movie produced by Tom Hooper (2015)”. It is intended as a requirement to accomplish the bachelor’s degree at Faculty of Humanities Sam Ratulangi University Manado. This research focus on identifying and classifying the factors that cause transgender as seen in the film, and the gender identity by the main character Einar
Wegener. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The writer used the concept of gender identity by Rhodes Perry (2017) and Gregory Bolich (2008) to analyze the gender identity as a transgender and the factor of being transgender. The writer also used the theory of literature by Wellek and Warren (1949) to identify the intrinsic approach such as the plot, theme, and character. The results of this research showed there were two factors that cause transgender, such as environmental and biological. The writer also found two transitions to reveal gender identity, such as social transition and medical transition based on the plot and the dialogues.

ANALISIS IDENTITAS GENDER SEBAGAI SEORANG TRANSGENDER DALAM FILM THE DANISH GIRL PRODUKSI TOM HOOPER (2015)
Penelitian ini berjudul “Analisis Identitas Gender Sebagai Seorang Waria di The Film Danish Girl diproduksi oleh Tom Hooper (2015)”. Hal ini dimaksudkan sebagai persyaratan untuk menyelesaikan pendidikan S1 di Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Sam Ratulangi Manado. Penelitian ini berfokus untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengklasifikasikan faktor-faktor penyebab transgender seperti yang terlihat di film, dan identitas gender oleh karakter utama Einar Wegener. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penulis menggunakan konsep tersebut identitas gender oleh Rhodes Perry (2017) dan Gregory Bolich (2008) untuk menganalisis
identitas gender sebagai transgender dan faktor menjadi transgender. Penulis juga menggunakan teori sastra oleh Wellek dan Warren (1949) untuk mengidentifikasi pendekatan intrinsik seperti plot, tema, dan karakter. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan terdapat dua faktor yang menyebabkan terjadinya transgender, seperti lingkungan dan biologis. Penulis juga menemukan dua transisi untuk mengungkapkan identitas gender, seperti transisi sosial dan transisi medis yang berdasarkan plot dan dialog.
