ABSTRACT
This research contains the history and development of the Karombasan market in Manado in 1970-2020, which explains how the history of the market in Manado during the Dutch colonial period, then the development of the market which includes the Karombasan market, as well as how the processes an activities that occurred in the Karombasan market in 1970 to 2020 which went through various kinds of crises, developments and other economic conditions.This study uses historical research methods with stage 1. Heuristics (collection of sources), 2. Verification (source criticism), 3. Interpretation, 4. Historiography (historical writing).
The results in this study show 1) The development of economic activities in Manado during the Dutch colonial government. 2) Some changes during and after the Dutch government period in Manado also affected the development of the Karombasan market. 3) Various activities and activities such as the construction of market conditions, procurement of terminals, economic activities, and the economic impact of the presence of the Karombasan market for residents.
